When RC real bride Alex thinks of her proposal, she thinks of a magical weekend away. Upon arrival to a secluded log cabin in Mount Beauty, Alex was greeted by flowers and her fiancé Andrew, dropped down on one knee. The rest is history but the magic did not stop there!

Alex wore the Berta 18-14

“Once I tried it on there was no going back! It had a beautiful long train, low back and sparkle! Berta make incredible dresses that make you feel glamorous and modern but you still feel like a ‘bride’.” – Alex

THE FIRST SIGHT

Andrew and I met on a holiday with friends in Phillip Island. We ended up staying at a beach house together in Phillip Island through mutual friends. Even though Andy did like me initially, we stayed friends for a number of years before I finally made the first move at a party one night after a few drinks. Soon after that we were dating.

THE PROPOSAL

Andy organised a weekend away in Mount Beauty just us two and our fur baby (Jasper). As we arrived at the beautiful, secluded log cabin there were flowers waiting at the front door. When I turned around Andy had dropped down on one knee and was asking me to marry him! We spent the next few days going for hikes, eating delicious food, drinking lots of wine and spending time together.

THE VENUE

Half Acre – It was still being built when we booked it. I loved the look and vibe of the venue from the photos, it was exactly what we were looking for. I also loved the idea that we were going to be one of the first few people to have their wedding there.

FAVOURITE MOMENT

Dancing the night away on the dance floor with all our family and friends!

THE DRESS

A Berta gown – Once I tried it on there was no going back! It had a beautiful long train, low back and sparkle! Berta make incredible dresses that make you feel glamorous and modern but you still feel like a ‘bride’.

FINDING THE ONE

Staff members were so helpful. I had a great experience trying on dresses at Raffaele Ciuca.

TIPS FOR ALL THE BRIDES TO BE

Try not to worry about the small details too much and on the day make sure you eat, drink and have fun!! Things will always happen or not go exactly as you planned, just embrace it all! No one else knows what was planned except for you so no one will know if something is wrong.
The day goes so fast remember to enjoy it all!
