Our story began in L’Aquila, Italy, a place whose name means “the eagle” where strength, artistry, and family heritage take flight.
Having spent his early years delivering fine suits across Abruzzo by bicycle, in 1954 master tailor Raffaele Ciuca left his hometown, guided by the belief that true craftsmanship could dress the spirit as much as the body.
By 1956, in Melbourne, Raffaele and his wife Tina had built a humble atelier where fabric was cut with precision, appointments ran long because conversations ran deep, and every client left feeling like family. Over time, wedding gowns became the heart of the business, transforming us into a house renowned for iconic bridal.
Now in our fourth generation, Raffaele Ciuca is where heritage elegance meets modern artistry. Seventy years on, Raffaele’s legacy lives not just in the name above the door, but in every fitting, every fabric choice, and every bride who leaves feeling seen, sculpted, and unforgettable.
Every gown is chosen with reverence, every detail infused with our Italian spirit, from the ornate romance of Renaissance inspiration to the joy of champagne with those who matter most.
Today, we are home to the world’s most coveted wedding designers: Vera Wang, Vivienne Westwood, and beyond, many exclusive to us. Here, gowns are never simply tried on. They become part of your history, and you become part of ours.
A gown is never just a gown; it’s a chapter in your story, and a thread in a 70-year tapestry of family, celebration, and craftsmanship.
