From the days of MySpace & MSN! This couple formed a bond way before dating apps were even a thought in peoples minds. An innocent High School sweetheart crush formed where Stacey + Oskar would spend time after school at their local shopping centre and spend the nights talking on the phone. As years passed this friendship developed into a deep set love and admiration for one another. Congratulations love birds! #RCREALBRIDE Stacey wore the gown Ellington by Sottero and Midgley. This intriguing fit-and-flare wedding dress features crosshatch netting and luxurious lace appliqués. Flourishes in the lace pattern evoke a basque waistline. Complete with sexy sweetheart neckline and open V-back. Finished with covered buttons over zipper closure. Photographer: Cast in Colour THE FIRST SIGHT Oskar and I met during high school at the end of 2008 through MySpace. I came across his profile and sent him a friend request, he then left a comment on my profile – we had an instant connection. We added each on MSN and spoke every day for hours. We even spoke on the phone until the early hours of the morning almost every night. We had our first date at our local shopping centre and made that our after school date hang out. THE PROPOSAL I did not see this coming at all! We had been dating for 7 years and planned an amazing holiday with our best friends Corey and Kama to America. Oskar and I were so excited because we love Halloween and were spending our first Halloween in America at Disneyland! We spent the night trick or treating in Disneyland Park and found an amazing spot to watch the Halloween night Fireworks. Just after the fireworks, Oskar turns around and says “Let’s go take a photo in front of the Castle”, and guided me to lead the way to the castle. I responded with “Okay but it’s dark, we’re not going to see anything.” When we got to the front of the castle, I turned around to see Oskar holding a blue Tiffany Box which he handed to me and asked me to open it. I was in so much shock that I was unable to untie and open the box. He helped me open it and as he pulled out the ring box, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was absolutely perfect! THE VENUE We fell in love with Quat Quatta the moment we step foot in the venue. Everything about the venue felt so perfect! It was everything we wanted and more! We looked at another two venues before we made our decision. It was a close tie between Quat Quatta and The International of Brighton. It was a tough decision. We booked with The International of Brighton. Almost 12 months before our wedding date, we received a call from the International advising they would no longer be hold our wedding at their venue, that Quat Quatta will be able to hold our wedding instead. It was a bit of a shock to us, however we were also very ecstatic that we would be having our wedding at Quat Quatta. It’s funny how things happen and work out the way they’re meant to. We were always meant to have our wedding at Quat Quatta and it was perfect. FAVOURITE MOMENT It’s hard so hard to choose! There are so many! I’d have to say walking down the isle with my mum, with our song playing, getting to marry my best friend with our bridesmaids and groomsmen by our sides and sharing that with our family and closest friends. It was truly magical. The whole day was perfect! THE DRESS I knew exactly what style dress I wanted and what I didn’t want in a dress. I did a lot of research online into the style of wedding dress I wanted and came across the Ellington by Sottero and Midgley dress and fell in love. As soon as I saw it I knew that was the one. I immediately called RC and booked an appointment to try on the dress. I knew the moment I put the dress on, it was the one. FINDING THE ONE My bridal shopping experience at RC was very special. I had my bridesmaids, my mum and my mother in law there with me and it was a very special memory I have with them and I will cherish forever. We celebrated with champagne, tears and lots of photos! The staff at the Brunswick Bridal Emporium were so lovely and made this experience so perfect! ADVICE FOR OTHER BRIDES Don’t be afraid of being organised! Planning and preparing things early helped us be less stressed for the lead up to the big day. Make lists and set time frames on when you want to have certain things booked by. Do a lot of research and make lists of things you want and what you don’t want. Doing this definitely helped with making those crucial decisions. Don’t forget to have fun while you’re planning! The best tip on how to keep a happy relationship is a bit cliché but it’s honesty, trust and open communication. Cherish each other and make sure you make time for each other.
