This week we interviewed #rcrealbride Maryanne who married the love of her life Victor in an our Keely wedding dress by Maggie Sottero. __ THE FIRST SIGHT Right when we were least expecting it and not looking for love at all (how ironic) a mutual friend played Cupid and set us up on a blind date. THE PROPOSAL Victor won a night stay in the city on a radio competition. He told me to book it so we could have a weekend away. (He knew if he planned it I would be suspicious). So off we went on our weekend away in September 2015.. spent the day shopping in Melbourne and then back to the hotel to get ready for dinner on Lygon street and drinks at Crown afterwards. After dinner victor receives a call from the hotel that they have had a breach and need all guests to come back and check there belongings, so we jump straight in a cab race to the apartment, only to find a room filled with rose petals and tea light candles, a giant teddy with a card on the bed, champagne and dessert.. I went in to the read the card, turned around and he was on one knee. THE VENUE We looked at a few venues but they didn’t represent us, or the vibe that we wanted for our day. As soon as we walked into vogue, we thought it was beautiful, perfect size and the owners were really accommodating and understanding of our European family’s needs.. (lots of food). THE FAVOURITE MOMENT Our entrance was by far the best part of the day, it was the moment when we both just got to go out as husband and wife for the first time and just relax and enjoy the night. THE DRESS I felt beautiful in my dress, it fit me perfectly and I just felt like the bell of the ball. A real princess.. I can’t imagine feeling like that ever again. FINDING THE ONE I had the best experience shopping for my dress with my mum and sister, everyone was lovely, super helpful. I went in wanting one style and after trying it on I was so upset as it didn’t suit me. I’m super grateful for the help of my attendant who quickly grabbed some options of what would suit me and bam there I fell in love with my dress. That wasn’t the scary part for me though. The alterations were, aurora was absolutely stunning and so helpful and calming on my crazy indecisiveness. She was just beautiful!! ADVICE A major one is obviously enjoy your day and don’t let anything upset you.. A few great tips I got from previous brides that I found helpful was. 1. When holding your flowers, always hold them at you belly button. 2. When walking down the isle make eye contact with your partner the whole way down (this stops you from looking down or around). 3. Practice your first kiss (ours was terrible, and we should have practiced haha). 4. Have hair and makeup trials!
