Moonlit walks on the beach, ice-cream in hand and a proposal! What more could a gal want? It was pretty much love at first sight for Carissa, not only with her hubby to be, but also with her dream wedding gown! Carissa shares all the details with us below. Carissa wore the Emily gown by Pronovias . “It was one of the first dresses I tired on, and it was love at first sight. I love its elegance, detail and fit. As soon as my lovely consultant Ellen popped the veil on with it, I loved it even more. It was also so comfortable – super easy to dance in!” – Carissa Photography by Jackie Dixon Photography THE FIRST SIGHT Blake and I met through mutual friends on a night out in our home town. We clicked straight away and I insisted that Blake must take me on a date. Several days later we went on our first date, and the rest is history. We’ve been practically inseparable since. THE PROPOSAL In December 2018 Blake and I went to Port Douglas for a holiday. We were so excited for a nice relaxing break! Unbeknownst to me Blake had plans to propose. On the first day we were up there Blake and I went out for dinner to an amazing Spanish restaurant, and then had some ice cream on the way back to our resort. Blake suggested that we head down to the beach and eat our ice cream under the stars… Next thing I know Blake was down on one knee with a beautiful ring in his hand, asking me to marry him. I was such an emotional mess! It was the best surprise. THE VENUE We chose to hold both our ceremony and reception at Encore St Kilda. We loved the idea of such a relaxed and picturesque atmosphere that the beach provides. We both have very large extended families with little children, so being at the beach provided ample room for the kids to let off some steam! The location was fantastic as we were able to have our photos taken within super close proximity to the venue. The food and service on the night was just incredible. We have had so many compliments from our guests and how much they enjoyed the venue. FAVOURITE MOMENT It is so hard to identify a ‘favourite’ part, however a real highlight was getting our portrait photos with our amazing photographers Jackie and Will from Jackie Dixon Photography. Blake and I had a few ‘wow… we’re actually married’ moments during the session. It was so nice to take have about an hour to ourselves to just reflect on the amazing commitment we’d just made. I also really enjoyed the car ride on the way to the ceremony with my mother and father. It was an extremely special moment to share with them that I will treasure forever. THE DRESS I wore the Emily dress by Pronovias. It was one of the first dresses I tired on, and it was love at first sight. I love its elegance, detail and fit. As soon as my lovely consultant Ellen popped the veil on with it, I loved it even more. It was also so comfortable – super easy to dance in! FINDING THE ONE My experience with Raffele Ciuca was great. Ellen form the Armadale store helped me through my consultations, and she was just fantastic. She actually reminded up of one of our very close family friends! She made me feel so relaxed and was very kind.
