A mere coincidence lead to a gorgeous love story of 6 years and still going strong! Caitlin met Josh through her now Maid of Honour and thanks to a bit of modern day technology, these two love birds came together!

#RCREALBRIDE Caitlin wore an elegant gown by Allure Bridal, purchased at our Brunswick boutique. A striking mermaid silhouette constructed from a cotton floral lace, finished with a wealth of organza ruffles at the hem.

THE FIRST SIGHT

My Maid of Honour Caitlyn, worked with Josh at a general store just outside of Ballarat so I had heard a bit about him. One night we went out to a nightclub with Caitlyn and we ran into him and that is where she introduced us. We had a bit of a chat but that is obviously hard in a nightclub so we went our separate ways. I wasn’t sure if I would see him again but 2 days later he added me on Facebook and he messaged me to catch up for a coffee. And from that day on we either caught up or messaged every day.

THE PROPOSAL

We got engaged at the beautiful Lake Louise in Canada, after dating for 5 years. We were at the start of a 2 week trip in Canada. We had just arrived at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and he said why don’t we head down to the lake and take some photos. So we rugged up and went down stairs and I started taking photos of the lake, and I kept wondering why he wasn’t looking at the lake why he was looking to see what everyone else was doing, then I put the camera down looked over and he was down on one knee, I was so excited I was crying and I didn’t really let him get a chance to ask me. We were really lucky too at the time josh was proposing another couple that were having dinner upstairs were taking a photo of the lake and got us in it.

THE VENUE

We had our Wedding at the Mercure in Ballarat. It was beautiful, they have a beautiful garden and amazing food. We decided to have it here because it was close for our families to get to, they had accommodation on sight and no one had to leave the venue as we had our ceremony and reception there.

FAVOURITE MOMENTS

On our way to the ceremony we stopped off at Nazareth House to visit my grandmother who was too unwell to attend. So we got the chance to stop off and get some photos with her as well.

THE DRESS

I loved my dress it was beautiful and I felt beautiful in it. I loved the ruffles down the train. I tried on about 6 dresses but kept coming back to that one.

FINDING THE ONE

I loved that my opinion counted the most, the girls there didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t want.

ADVICE FOR OTHER BRIDES

Just relax the day comes and goes so fast so just enjoy every moment if something doesn’t go to plan don’t worry about it. No one is going to know. Just enjoy the day.
