This week we interviewed #rcrealbride Sarah who married the love of her life Chance in our Oblea wedding gown by Pronovias on the 18th March 2017 in Queenstown, New Zealand.

THE FIRST SIGHT

Chance and I met at work. We were both studying and working part-time as a restaurant/bar to fund our social lives. I had just come out of a relationship and he wanted to start dating straight away but I wasn’t ready. It took us over a year to finally get together and we have now been together for almost 8 years with two kiddies.

THE PROPOSAL

Chance proposed in Singapore when we on a family holiday. I was swimming with the dolphins and at the end of the session the dolphin swam up to us carrying an eski. I was the first in line to receive it (thinking it had fish in it for us to feed the dolphin with) and in the eski was a note that say SAY YES! in it. I had no idea what was going on until the instructor told me to turn around and he was down on one knee.

THE VENUE

We got married in Queenstown, New Zealand because it was the first place we lived together before we moved to Melbourne. I chose both our ceremony and reception venues based on the views and also privacy. Our reception was also in a hall because I wanted to decorate it a certain way to fit in with my modern romantic theme.

THE FAVOURITE MOMENT

Oh gosh, everything! But taking a helicopter up to the top of a mountain was pretty magical and having everyone we loved and cared about in the one room was very special.

THE DRESS

I felt like a princess. I wanted to stand out but not over the top as I was having a relaxed outdoor wedding. I loved the lace detail in the bodice and it flowed perfectly for my figure. It also gave me the princess feel without being too extravagant. I’m lucky I fit in to it after having a baby after my first fitting and my body changing quite a bit but it looked amazing.

THE ONE

I had Francesca and she was great. She listened to me and wasn’t pushy, which is what you need at a time that can be quite stressful and overwhelming. It needs to be a relaxed experience.

ADVICE

Take a moment to absorb your wedding day. It goes quickly but if you stand back and just take it all in you will remember it so much more.

Don’t skimp on a photographer or videographer. Those are you everlasting memories that you can’t get back.
