Longtime love birds Jessica + Greg met where people take flight to go on an adventure, the Airport. Its clear to see with our editorial on this couple that their love took flight from the get-go. Nerves and butterflies were felt from the first date followed by soaring dedication to one another. We adored this couples engagement story and loved the photos of their undeniable connection on their special day. Jess chose to wear the stunning Sottero and Midgley Ellington gown. A beautiful fit-and-flare wedding dress features crosshatch netting and luxurious lace appliqués. Flourishes in the lace pattern evoke a basque waistline. Complete with sexy sweetheart neckline and open V-back. Finished with covered buttons over zipper closure. Congratulations to our #RCREALBRIDE may you enjoy your happily ever after!

THE FIRST SIGHT
We met at work when we were both 21. We were working in a retail store at Melbourne Airport. When we talk about that time so long ago it’s funny as we both had the same thoughts; “gosh he/she is tall” as Greg is 6’5” and I am 6’, I guess that’s how it all started our common tall height. We slowly started chatting, about normal work things and over the course of a few months we mutually decided to go and see a movie together. I told a bit of a white lie, saying that none of my friends wanted to see this movie, which was a Michael Moore film. All I can remember from the movie was sitting there thinking “Is this a date? I don’t know if this is a date?” It was awkward, but we both had a good time with each other. It wasn’t long after that that we were official.
THE PROPOSAL
Oh, the proposal. Caught me totally off guard. I had been nagging and suggesting we get married for a long time. At this stage, we had been together for 13.5 years, so there was part of me that was thinking it might not be happening. We were meant to be going out for dinner just before the end of my holiday break. However, Greg had a work emergency which lead him to be home very late that night, so we postponed. He pushed the issue of doing something together the next morning. He suggested we take our 6-month-old Labrador puppy for a walk in the park and have a picnic brunch. I was keen on this idea, however already had a Pilates class booked in for the morning. We decided I would do my class, then buy some food, and Greg would meet me down at the park with the puppy. As with all good plans, there’s usually a hiccup, in this case, after my Pilates class, I realised someone had taken my thongs! So here I am, walking around the shopping centre in bare feet, buying croissants and juice in quite a bad mood! Anyway, I met Greg and pup down at the park and we had a lovely picnic brunch. As we were packing up, and I was walking the pup around, I turned to walk towards Greg to find him down on one knee, asking to marry me! Well, I was just overcome by immense excitement. I shouted out “ARE YOU SERIOUS?? YES!!” and, he put a ring on it!
THE VENUE
Greg and I both really enjoy nature and the more relaxed style that Inglewood Estate had to offer. The grounds had everything we needed and some of the most picturesque places! The wedding planners were relaxed and accommodating, and nothing was ever to much trouble. Additionally, the venue allowed for us to have a reception that catered to all of our guests, with areas to sit, dance, be outside and lounge around. Finally, the food and wine selection were on point.
FAVOURITE MOMENT
It’s so hard to just pick one part or moment, as the whole day was beyond amazing and so memorable. A top moment for me was walking down the aisle and locking eyes with Greg. This was a really special and very memorable moment for the both of us.
THE DRESS
MY DRESS! I LOVE my dress. After 7 weeks since our wedding, I still see my dress in my closet and want to put it on again. It made me feel like a real bride, so special, so elegant. I loved the shape that it gave to my body, it was like it was made exactly for me. The sweetheart neckline, beading and heavier style of lace were all my favourite parts. It was the one dress I tried on that made my stomach flip and my mum cry, so it was easy to tell it was the one! I think my dress was a little bit more unusual, due to the heavier style of lace, in comparison to some of the weddings I have been to in the past few years. This made me feel very special and unique, which I loved.
FINDING THE ONE
My experience could not have been smoother and just perfect. I booked a last-minute appointment on a whim after being disappointed with my previous shopping experiences at other stores. My consultant was Francesca at the Brunswick store. Francesca was patient and flexible, and allowed myself and my bridal crew to try, browse, and re-try, as much as I needed. She knew when to add her expertise and helped me feel proud and confident of my body. She offered great suggestions about accessories, shoes, and underwear. I felt really comfortable and at ease during my visits to the Brunswick store.
ADVICE FOR OTHER BRIDES
Be organised, and pause-breathe-pause many, many times, during the day.
