This week we interviewed #rcrealbride Georgia who married the love of her life Phil in our Francine wedding gown by Maggie Sottero. __ THE FIRST SIGHT We first met through mutual friends at a pub, were we talked for hours. We parted ways at the end of the night thinking that we would never cross paths again. However a few months later at an Air Force Graduation dinner, he came to the rescue from a drunk fool, 4 years later here we are. THE PROPOSAL An epic family vay-cay to the Sapphire Coast (Merimbula). Phil planned the entire day for us, boat ride in the morning, picnic breakfast, animal sanctuary (I got a selfie with a kangaroo). Then he took me down to the pier, where he had written the most beautiful speech/poem for me, got down on one knee and produced a custom Heidi Gibson blue sapphire ring… (Swoon) THE VENUE You have to see it to believe it, a winery atop a hill range surrounded by pine trees, native forests, and of course the vineyard. Log cabins and rolling clouds and did I mention they have alpacas? Just wait until you see them! THE FAVOURITE MOMENT We were actually guests at our wedding! We planned everything, so it was exactly what we wanted. Small and chilled out, with amazing features. We got to play the games, dance with our friends, eat all the food, and enjoy the day as much as our guest, rather then just be an attraction that was held to a schedule for the entire day. Also we had fireworks, so I am thinking they were my favourite! THE DRESS I am a girlie girl, at times.. And I tend to wear a lot of black and denim. This was put to the test when trying to secure a white gown, but of course I felt a million bucks and like I could have been a magical woodland princess! FINDING THE ONE I actually visited both stores. I found that Armadale was so busy and so many brides on the hunt for their dream gown. The staff were all so lovely. When I walked into the Brunswick store, I didn’t have an appointment but Allison looked after me until her next client arrive. I think we tried on about 10 gowns. She really listened to what I wanted and took the time to get to know me and made me feel incredibly comfortable as I was a little overwhelmed with it all. ADVICE Be yourself, don’t get all caught up in what you think a wedding should be. Have your budget of what works for you and your partner. It is a truly amazing day, and you should look back on the moments and experiences. We had an amazing time and I am so glad that we kept it real as it all goes so fast!
