“Rina from the Armadale store assisted me in choosing my dress. She was lovely and made the experience so easy and fun! Raffaele Ciuca was actually the first store I had looked at and found the dress on that day.”

RC – How did you meet Huey?
Huey and I actually met on a blind date! It was the first time that we’d both been set up so we were quite nervous and apprehensive about it. Fortunately for us, it went very well and the rest is history.

RC – How did Huey propose?
Huey proposed on our 2 year anniversary. He had organised a trip to a Balinese retreat. After dinner, he played short video that he had made of our trip to Japan and also a photo montage of our 2 years together. When that ended, he surprised me by getting down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

RC – Your favourite part of the wedding?
Our wedding was held at Campbell Point House on the Bellarine Peninsula. The house looked absolutely stunning from the photos we had seen, but it wasn’t until we saw it first hand that we just knew it would be the perfect location for our wedding and didn’t want to look anywhere else! We loved the idea of having our wedding at a private estate, it felt very intimate but also gave our guests the freedom the wander around the house and its beautiful surrounds.

RC – How did the dress make you feel?
I felt elegant in my dress but also very comfortable wearing it. I had wanted a dress with some sort of an illusion neckline, but it was important to me that the design wouldn’t seem dated looking back in 10, 20 or 30 years time. I was very happy to find that balance in this Maggie Sottero dress, which had a classic silhouette but that semi-sheer neckline which I loved.

RC – How was your bridal shopping experience?
Rina from the Armadale store assisted me in choosing my dress. She was lovely and made the experience so easy and fun! Raffaele Ciuca was actually the first store I had looked at and found the dress on that day. However, I did make a second appointment with Rina just to make sure that it was “the one”.

RC – Tips for brides-to-be!
Everyone tells you that your wedding day will fly by, and it does! On the day, try not to stress out about any fine details that may not have gone perfectly to plan. You’ve done all that hard work leading up to this one day so it’s time to soak it in and enjoy yourself. I found that things do have a way of working themselves out, so have fun with your groom and loved ones!
