Tom and I were introduced at a friends wedding and after the bridal waltz I bravely asked him to dance; thankfully he said “yes”. RC – How did Tom pop the question? Tom and I were excited for a little Queensland escape together on the Gold Coast. However our flight somehow got diverted to Sydney and we had to stay the night, Tom seemed very anxious about this and I couldn’t work out why at the time? All the while he was stressed about carrying my engagement ring in a sock in his suitcase so I wouldn’t find it. On the 3rd of November 2013 which was also my grandmas 93rd birthday Tom asked me to marry him while walking along the beach during the most perfect sunset. It was so romantic and the emerald cut diamond ring he had made was to die for! RC – Why did you choose to say “I do” at the W Retreat? I chose the W Retreat in Koh Samui for our wedding after seeing my friends photos of a wedding he attended at the W. The floating stage looked incredible & I always dreamed of a destination wedding. RC – Your favourite part of the big day? My favourite part of our “WOW” wedding? There were so many special moments but one that stands out would have to be walking down the aisle with my Dad and seeing my handsome husband to be and our bridal party all looking simply stunning on the floating stage and our guests saying they felt as if they were on a movie set in their floating pods. It was breathtaking! RC – How did your dream gown make you feel? My flower girls Bella and Liv thought I was a princess and to be honest I felt like an absolute princess in my Maggie Soterro “Summer” gown. It was an extremely flattering dress and fit my hour glass figure perfectly thanks to the amazing work of the Raffael Ciuca alterations ladies. The soft flowing chiffon was perfect for a beach wedding and the beading and sweetheart neckline was incredibly beautiful and added that touch of sparkle I wanted. RC – Can you tell me about finding your dream gown? Would you believe the “Summer” gown was the first wedding dress I had ever tried on in my life. Whilst I tried on many gowns afterwards I always came back to the first gown thanks to the amazing assistance of Imogen whose service was outstanding. My tips for brides-to-be on your big day is to stop, take a moment with your husband and marvel in your big day. Look around and see your vision that has come to life, all the planning, money and effort that has consumed your lives for so long has now become a reality so Enjoy it!
