Though thinking he was a bit of a dream boat years past as their lives took off in different directions. Fate made them cross paths in a regional town as both lived in separate major cities. THE FIRST SIGHT
Daniel and I knew each other through my sister when we were in High School at the time. My sister and Daniel were friends but that’s all there was.
It was not till we were older that we bumped into each other out in Wollongong which was random as I lived in Sydney and he lived in Melbourne at the time, it all began from there.
We did long distance for 3 years and have been together for 6 years in January 2018. We now live back in our home town together.
THE PROPOSAL
We drove to Rutherglen for the day to enjoy a bit of wine and fun. We finished off our day at All Saints winery having a picnic by the pond with some, wine and cheese when Daniel nervously popped the question, instantly sending me into crying hysterics, as well as our wedding day it was one of the best days of my life so far.
THE VENUE
We always wanted to have a wedding in a vineyard or in a Garden but going out of our home town and having big families didn’t seem realistic, so we decided we had to find somewhere that would fulfill our vision in our local area.
We were driving around one Monday afternoon trying to see if we could spot any properties that looked like a good fit for a Marquee wedding, as we drove past this beautiful property with vines and a wraparound stunning garden this is when we decided we would bite the bullet and start planning.
FAVOURITE MOMENT
Our wedding day was everything and more I could have ever dreamed of. I would have to say that seeing Daniel at the end of the aisle was the highlight, being nervous all day seeing him brought a sudden calm over me and I was the happiest I could ever be.
The aim of our day was to have endless fun, dance and everyone we loved to be with us.
Our reception started with Antipasto in the garden then onto the marquee where we wanted everyone to get up and dance as soon as we entered, so we filled the dance floor to start the night and it went so quick from there.
THE DRESS
I wore a beautiful A-line, princess dress. It had a beaded bodice by Rebecca Ingram which I added detachable sleeves to take my dress from ceremony to reception. I absolutely loved my dress it was all I ever dreamed of.
Living in regional NSW my Mum, two Sisters & my Aunty drove the 5 hours with me to Melbourne to try on dresses, it was so much fun I had an idea of what I wanted but it still didn’t make it easy. I tried a few dresses on but as soon as I put this dress on I knew it was the one, I felt like myself.
I don’t think anyone would have thought I would wear this dress I think they imagined I would have chosen a lace long sleeve fitted dress so I think it was a nice surprise.
FINDING THE ONE
Shopping at Raffaele Ciuca in Armadale was such a lovely experience. My assistant Billy was so beautiful and calming. Billy gave me so many choices so I got the most out of my experience.
Daniel & I had always said from when we got engaged we wanted to have a 6-month engagement and seeing as the sample had only arrived the day before I was so happy the girls could accommodate me and get my dress in 5 months and I am so appreciative of that.
ADVICE FOR OTHER BRIDES
Be as organized as you can be and it will all fall into place.
We had a marquee wedding and it was torrential rain a few days before our wedding, I cried, I panicked but the day turned out sunny skies and perfect weather.
Not everything goes to plan but see the light at the end of the tunnel and remember you are going to marry the love of your life and that’s all that matters the rest is history.
Remember to always laugh, make time and enjoy life together!
