VENI . VIDI . AMAVI
We came, we saw, we loved.
A wedding in Venice is possibly the most exclusive and spectacular option for those who desire to marry in Italy. Every couple dreams of being able to enjoy a gondola ride along the Grand Canal, taking in the magnificent Rialto Bridge. The city of Venice is famous for its sumptuous hotels and private Renaissance palaces which can be rented for very exclusive wedding receptions. Imagine ornate interiors lit by soft candlelight creating an atmosphere of times gone by; memories that will remain etched in the minds of you and your family for years to come.

Italy is one of the most fashionable countries in the world, known for their daring and dramatic style, we chose the sultry Leire wedding dress by San Patrick. | SO FRENCHY . SO CHIC!|
Dreaming of macaroons, the Eiffel Tower, exquisite food and champagne... there's no wonder Paris is known as the most romantic city in the world! For planning your Paris wedding, first of all- and probably the most important detail: you can’t get legally married in France. You have to live in France more than 40 days in a row and have documents to prove it. What we suggest is to have a civil ceremony where you live and plan a symbolic ceremony in Paris. French people usually don’t get married between July 15th and August 15th – it’s the summer vacation period. If you plan your wedding during this time before you speak to vendors, you’ll find out that a lot of them may be closed for a few weeks.
MELBOURNE to PARIS - 23 hours
The French are known to be sophisticated and minimalist, our pick for Paris is our chic Drabea wedding dress by Pronovias featuring a slinky crepe dress with demure jewell details around the neck and armholes.
THE CITY THAT
Not everyone dreams of heading for the beach for a destination wedding. If you crave arts, culture and city hustle for your day, New York City is the perfect choice. You can have your New York wedding large or small, urban or uptown. June, July, August, and September are the most popular months to get hitched in New York, these months bring fresh summery weather. The choices are truly endless in the city that doesn’t sleep.
MELBOURNE to NEW YORK - 22.5 hours
Our pick for a New York wedding is the 18-14 by Berta Bridal. It feels fitting to select a Berta design for the fashion capital! Simple sophistication - this elegant, lace fishtail gown is perfect for a chic city wedding.
EASY . BREEZY . BEAUTIFUL

Tips for saying "I do" abroad.
We're seeing an enormous rise in our Raffaele Ciuca brides choosing destination weddings. Rather than just one day together, planning a destination wedding provides a mini vacation for you and your guests and an unforgettable celebration. From Ireland to Italy, Mexico to Port Douglas - here's a look at our RC Real Bride's destination weddings!
1. CHOOSE A MEANINGFUL LOCATION
Keep in mind that your destination must have all of the resources you need; that charming beach town where you spent your childhood summers won’t work if it only has one hotel that can’t accommodate all your guests.
2. EMBRACE THE SETTING TO SAVE BIG
Slash your décor budget by incorporating local flowers — think olive branches and grape leaves in Tuscany or exotic flowers and plants in the tropics — and serve local specialties at the reception, to cut catering costs.
3. CONSIDER YOUR GUESTS
Try to put everyone in one reasonably affordable hotel. If price is an issue, find less expensive accomodation. Don’t set your date until you’re sure there’s room availability for everyone.
4. HIRE A PRO
Or, if a planner isn’t in your budget, look for a resort with a strong on-site coordinator.
5. VISIT IN ADVANCE
Ideally, you’d see your venue once before booking and again three to four months before the wedding to finalise details. If a second trip’s not possible, arrive at least five days early to make those decisions and do a hair and makeup trial.
6. PICK YOUR VENDORS IN PERSON
In advance of your first site visit, set up meetings with the better-known florists and rental companies in your destination. But also ask for referrals from your venue on the ground; you might uncover local talent you didn’t know about.
7. BUDGET FOR VENDORS
If you decide to bring specialists from home, expect to cover their travel and lodging costs; a clean, safe hotel within 30 minutes of your venue is a must. Negotiate these expenses up front so things don’t get out of control.
8. TAILOR YOUR DRESS TO YOUR LOCATION
Breathable fabrics work best in hot, humid locations. Lightweight lace in Mexico is stunning, as is an embellished ball gown at a villa in France.
9. NEVER CHECK YOUR DRESS
Always carry your dress on board the plane, even if it means having to fold it. Just make sure someone at the other end can press and steam it.
THE LOVE STORY
Katherine & Benjamin
#rcrealbride Kathering wore a stunning beaded fishtail wedding dress from Raffaele Ciuca Bridal for her destination wedding in Mykonos, Greece on the 26th September 2017

THE FIRST SIGHT
Ben and I actually met online, very 21st century. We talked for weeks on the phone until I found the courage to go on our first date. By then I felt like we had known each other for years. It was a very romantic dinner followed by dessert. He was an absolute gentleman and I was already falling in love.
On our first New Years Eve together, we decided to escape the city to the Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne. We wined and dined and strolled to the pier at midnight to watch the fireworks. As the clock struck 12am - Ben pulled me close, whispered three special words and promised they would last forever. Fast forward 2 years - at the very same location, Ben whispered the same words, knelt to one knee, and I promised forever with a big YES!
We chose to marry overseas in Mykonos, Greece. My dad was born in Greece, so it was very sentimental. We travelled for 2 weeks around Greece with most of our wedding guests before the big day which made it all even more exciting. We found the most perfect church just behind the iconic Myconian windmills overlooking the ocean and then we spoilt our guests to an evening of eating, drinking and dancing at the incredible Mykonos Blu Grecotel Exclusive Resort.
THE FAVOURITE MOMENT
It's greek tradition that you drive the bride through the town beeping the car horn. As we drove through the narrow Mykonos streets, all the shoppers, tourists and locals surrounded the car, clapping and cheering, it was so surreal. Later that day Ben told me he could hear the beeping and cheering, so he knew we were near. I go back to that feeling in the car, nervous and excited, wanting to cherish every second, about to marry my best friend, my soul mate.
My dress was an absolute dream. It was the first dress I tried on, and after trying on only 2 other dresses, I knew my dress was the one. It felt like home, it felt like it was designed especially for me. It wasn't what I originally thought I would wear, but once I saw it on, I couldn't imagine being married in anything else.
FINDING THE ONE
I went into RC to get an idea of some wedding dress styles I might like and I walked out with my gown. The girls were amazing, so understanding, gentle, and truly excited for you. Given they do have the best job ever, they really do love what they do, and it really shows. They made the experience an absolute delight, a feeling you carry with your dress on your wedding day. My dress was filled with great energy, and I was so excited to radiate that energy on the day.
ADVICE FOR OTHER BRIDES
Something will go wrong. Many things will go wrong. And it will still be the best day of your life. That's the magic of your wedding day. Enjoy the magic!
