THE FIRST SIGHT
We are the picture of the modern love story; we both swiped right! I am quite sure our paths would never have crossed otherwise, so thank-you Tinder!
We met for our first date at a little bar/restaurant in Merewether, Newcastle. Charlie tells me that he knew very quickly that I was the one for him… I was more cautiously suspicious…he was so nice to me I didn’t think he could be genuine! Turns out he was every bit as wonderful as he first appeared, and not long later we were absolutely inseparable.
THE PROPOSAL
We had only been together for seven months, and I took Charlie home (to Cheshire, England) to meet all my family for the first time. Then 4-5 days into our holiday (after meeting all my relatives) he slipped the ring on my finger at about 6am. I woke up to this and thought he was playing with the rings that were on my fingers already and then I felt it…it was not one of my rings! Holding it very close to my face (I’m incredibly shortsighted) I suddenly realised it was THE most beautiful engagement ring I have ever seen in my life! He then popped the question!
THE VENUE
We chose to get married in a Manor house very close to where I grew up in Cheshire. We fell for it instantly. It oozed elegance and opulence, and we had exclusivity for the day and night which was important for us so all our guests could relax and pop to their rooms (either upstairs in the manor or in cottages on the grounds) from time to time if they wanted. The staff were also fantastic.
FAVOURITE MOMENT
The wedding day was absolutely the most beautiful and magical day of our lives. My family are all from England and Charlie’s are from Australia, so to have everyone there together in that manor, celebrating with us was so special. Every part of every moment was perfect. I honestly get so emotional every time I think about it! I want to do it all again!
THE DRESS
I actually flew to Melbourne from Airlie Beach, QLD with a few close friends specifically to visit RC specifically, as I knew there were Berta stockists. As soon as I walked into the room I noticed the Aurelia. I tried on two or three before I came to actually try it on, as in my head
I had pictured something altogether differed, but none of them made me feel that feeling. It was like magic when I did try it on, I just knew that was the one I had to have. I actually had two other appointments at other stores but cancelled them there and then. I knew nothing would ever come close.
Putting the dress on on the day was so exciting, I felt like a princess. And I can’t tell you how many people told me that it was the most incredible dress they have ever seen. I didn’t want to take it off!
FINDING THE ONE
Truffles, bubbles and private dressing room. Perfect!
I definitely think the private bridal suite experience at Raffaele Ciuca Armadale was well worth it and would recommend it to anyone looking to have a more intimate bridal shopping experience with your friends and family.
ADVICE FOR OTHER BRIDES
We really believe that one of the things that makes us so strong as a couple is how well we communicate with each other. The good the bad and the ugly. We have always learned from any arguments we have had, and moved forward together as a stronger couple. Its not me vs him. It’s me and him vs any issue we have.
