THE LOVE STORY
This week we interviewed #rcrealbride Mylee
who married the love of her life Matthew in our Panola wedding gown by La Sposa on
25th March 2017
THE FIRST SIGHT
Our first encounter was off on a rocky start which we didn’t even make proper contact. We had passed each other so many times without realising. Funny enough he had came over to my store a while down the track and it was that one glance that he could barely keep his eyes off me. Little did I know that my store manager had been chatting him up about me. He had this cute smile that I could still remember as I awkwardly smiled back. It was from then it began to blossom. The more we got to know each other, the more you start to realise how much one person could make you completely forget where you are but just the two of you and no one else.
You know when you’re in love and you just know when the moment is right and Matt knew. Matt was in Sydney and I was in Geelong for work. We had been apart for 3 weeks and it was completely killing me. He was coming back home in 2 weeks but little did I know that he was planning his proposal and coming back earlier to surprise me. From his flight being cancelled to explaining to the flight attendant how urgent he had to get back because he was proposing. He drove straight to where I was hidden in the kitchen where I found him down on one knee and the ring in his hand. The rest is history.
Coming from both big ethnic backgrounds, it was important that we found a place which felt right where we could see ourselves being surrounded by all our family and friends and also not forgetting about good taste in food.
THE FAVOURITE MOMENT
The whole day felt like a dream but if I really had to pick it was walking down the aisle with my first love, my dad and then seeing my husband to be with that smile that I fell madly in love with. I had the biggest smile on my face coming face to face with Matt that everything just fell in place. Most of all that our 6 month old was watching his mummy and daddy fall in love over and over.
After giving birth a few months before the wedding, I wanted to wow everyone with my hard work. That dress did exactly that, I looked and felt great. From never thinking that I could wear a beautiful dress like that, to it being custom fit exactly to me. It was mine and I made it rock!
FINDING THE ONE
The wonderful staff member who made my fairytale moment happen was Pina. I had been trying gowns left right and centre and was close to giving up on finding the one. Pina could see how stressed out I was, she pulled me to the side and said if I could put my trust in her and that she had the perfect dress for me. You know the moment is right when you slip on the dress and burst into tears. I felt like a bride! Most of all I could imagine myself walking down to my now husband with a big grin on his face.
If it’s meant to be then let it be. Also a pair of comfy sneakers to get out of those heels. If they can’t see it then they won’t know.
